And Then There's Hope

Hope. Such a great word. And used so frequently it has almost lost its meaning.

Dictionary.com says Hope is the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best.

Merriam Webster online says to cherish a desire with anticipation.

The ever popular Urban Dictionary says hope ismankind's greatest weakness and greatest strength. (This was #2 by the way, you'll have to hit the link to see what #1 was)((for you Facebook fanatics kate means a girl's name for the coolest person you will ever meet. Just sayin))

Those Pansies over there give me hope. I planted them last fall and the tiny suckers are still alive in spite of all the snow and frigid temps we had this winter, which is not normal for Virginia might I add. And, might I add they really shouldn't be called Pansies. Maybe we should change it to Mighties or something more fitting for a colorful flower that survives the winter.

Take those tulips. Unlike the Pansies Mighties they have just now broken ground getting ready for Spring blooming. The best part, these guys sleep all fall and winter only to come back and bloom in brilliant color each and every year. They don't look like much now, but have patience my friend and I will post pictures of them later on this Spring.

So, my point. (finally, you say. Hey, I don't twist your arm to read this blog) Even though it seems that I'm in the winter right now with classes and homework and paperwork and background checks and our first Home Visit on Tuesday, I can see the Spring coming and all the blooming that comes with it. I feel like the pansy Mighty right now surviving a very harsh winter only to have tulips planted for a fruitful Spring. Each time I receive hand-me-down clothes or furniture, it's like I'm coming out of the frozen ground a little more. Each class I can mark off as completed, I stand a little taller. Might there be one more snow storm? I think yes, but I’m not going to let it destroy the Hope I’ve got.

More on the Home visit later this week so stay tuned. Also a trip to Atlantic City for A-10 tournament fun. Go Spiders!

PS I am obviously having picture posting issues, so someone smarter than me, please teach me how to post pictures where I want them to be! Please?

love the hope... and of course there will be another "snow storm" there is always another "snow storm"... life wouldn't be as sweet without the sourness of its struggles. ♥ m

I am trying to believe that there is hope!

P.S. When you go to publish a picture, you have to choose which side you want it on, the left, center, or right. Once you choose I don't think you can rearrange the picture except for size and if you want it at the top or bottom of your post. Does that make sense?!
